October 3rd is the globally recognized World Romance Scam Prevention Day. This day is to drive awareness of an epidemic that has resulted in several losses to suicide, emotionally disrupted millions of lives, and has taken billions of dollars from the innocent. We shall educate the world!
According to the FBI's Internet Crimes Complaint Center's (IC3) Internet Crime Report: Over $735,000,000 left the U.S. in 2022 due to Confidence/Romance fraud. This does not include Pig Butchering scams.
Pig Butchering scams are made up of two types of cybercrimes, romance scams and investment scams. If we added the loss to Pig Butchering Scams to Confidence/Romance Fraud, the amount of money lost in the United States would be close to $3,000,000,000.
THIS IS AN EPIDEMIC!
